Brunch fun.

by Lauren on September 22, 2012

My favorite meal has to be brunch. There is something so fun about eating your favorite breakfast foods a little later in the day. My fiance came up to visit last weekend and we ended up going to the best brunch place in town. If you live in Manhattan, you know I am talking about The Chef. The Chef is an adorable little side street cafe with lots of personality. Below are just a few pictures I took of the cafe.

{A chilly fall morning called for coffee and hot chocolate of course}

If you get the chance to go, here is what I recommend ordering:

1. Stacked French Toast with Caramel Cream Cheese

2. Dang Quesadilla

3. Homemade Oatmeal

Apple gadgets.

by Lauren on September 21, 2012

With all the hype around the iPhone 5, I thought I would theme my post around Apple gadgets. Whether its an iPhone, iPad or laptop, most of us are surrounded by Apple products. Most seem to relatively have a lot of the same functions but we still feel the need to have multiple gadgets. If you could only live with one Apple product, what would it be?

In spirit of an Apple post, I have linked below some great articles and videos about the iphone 5 and the ios 6 update.

How to use the ios 6 iPhone update.

The iPhone 5 and what it has to offer.

Color Block

by Lauren on September 14, 2012

I love the look of color blocking because you can mix two unexpected colors together. However there is a distinct way of creating this style so it is not too much. Below are a few tips to perfecting this look.

3 tips to wear a color block outfit.

1. Use two colors that are adjacent to each other in the color wheel. (Example: Blue & Green or Orange & Pink)

2. Wear a big chunky necklace to break up the two colors.

3. Nude or cognac heels are always a safe bet to compliment a color block outfit.

Creative & artistic pursuits.

by Lauren on September 9, 2012

Lately, I have been longing for more down time to pursue some hobbies, both new and old. Its funny how life can get so busy that we tend to let our hobbies go when actually they can help us feel less stressed and more engaged.

Art Projects & Crafting.

I have been wanting to start some crafty projects for my home such as the wall decor above. Decorating a house does not have to be expensive, especially when you DIY. Personally, I think a house is more homey when the pieces are home made.

Working Out.

A work out routine is essential to my piece of mind. It gets me going every morning and automatically makes me more productive the rest of the day. I also am going to try and switch up my workout to keep it fresh and fun.

Being able to style various outfits with a few fashion pieces that you already have in your closet, is a great way to save money. Fashion is a strong part of a person’s personality, so why not show it off with some great styling.

What hobbies give you peace of mind and allow you to unwind? Skimping on a hobby may seem like a good idea when you are busy but in the long run, it allows you to lead a more creative rich life.
