What a year…

by Lauren on December 31, 2012

Today is the last day of 2012, which calls for some serious reflecting. I can’t believe all that has happened this year, some not so good but most incredible. A lot has changed this year and I look forward to how it will play out in 2013. To name a few of my big changes, I got engaged, graduated college, got a big girl job and moved! Each new stage had its challenges and I learned so much about myself and the people I love through each one of these milestones!

Its easy to let yourself be resistant to change and afraid of what will happen next, but as I have said before on this blog, change can be so healthy and is often needed to move forward. Cheers to 2013 and embracing LOTS of change! :)

Thank YOU for being a part of a very special year and for your love and support. May the best of 2012 be your worst in 2013!

Christmas cookies.

by Lauren on December 22, 2012

We just finished our first round of Christmas cookie baking and it went off without a hitch. We tried two new recipes this year and kept a traditional one that we have been using for years. We made chocolate crinkle cookies, almond sugar cookies and peppermint bark. Below are the recipes we used and recommend from tasting all the cookies after. Happy baking!

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.

{I love this recipe because it uses brownie batter! We skipped the caramel because its tricky to work with and

changes the consistency of the cookie}

Almond Sugar Cookie.

{The almond flavor in these cookies is really light and makes the cookies super moist.}

Peppermint Bark.

{I love layering both dark chocolate and white chocolate together.}

Winter essentials.

by Lauren on December 19, 2012

Snow is coming tonight/tomorrow! Although I am not a cold weather fan, I am excited for a little snow to make it feel more like Christmas. With the cold weather rolling in, I thought I would share a few of the things I cant live without during the chilly season.

May you stay warm and cozy this time of year!

{fur pelt. I absolutely love the fur pelt I have because it just may be the warmest blanket ever. You can find these at Restoration Hardware.}

{eos lip balm. A very hydrating lip balm.}

{peppermint mocha coffee creamer. Who need Starbucks anymore?}

{hydrating facial mist. This easy to tote facial mist will give your face the perfect amount of moisture.}

Just a little inspiration

by Lauren on December 3, 2012

While most of us are wrapping up the semester and are about to start a new chapter of our lives, now is the perfect time for a little inspiration. I thought these quotes might help you get through the week (for some of us it is dead week, the week before finals). We are so close to getting a nice long break so stick with it and pull through!
