{outfit post} 5 winter favorites .

by Lauren on November 25, 2014

one of my favorite things to do on a Saturday morning is go out to brunch with girlfriends and catch up over mimosas. i did exactly that this past weekend and wore this cozy cape to stay warm on a rather dreary cold day. the mix of the soft fabric and the color block grey and white make this piece perfect for everyday. i always crave comfort in the winter yet still want to keep my style.

my top five favorite pieces for winter include cozy capes, bright-colored blouses, black booties, petite layered necklaces and oversized totes. you can find all these winter favorites and more on i recently discovered this site and am loving all of the discounts that you can get. Raise lets you buy gift cards to all the best stores at a discounted price. some of my favorite store like Loft, Sephora and H&M are on the site. also, if you have old gift cards laying around that you haven’t used, sell them on Raise for cash.

très chic: mini dress.

by Lauren on November 24, 2014

i am loving the mini dress trend that’s popular right now, especially around the holidays! for this month’s tres chic, we all styled the mini dress a little different. the great thing about this trend is how versatile it can be, whether its pairing it with boots, tights, a scarf or an oversized bag. hopefully these three outfits give you a little inspiration for your next holiday party.

cfg lately.

by Lauren on November 19, 2014

i haven’t done one of these posts in awhile so i thought i would share some Instagrams from what i have been up to lately. it’s been busy over here with baby showers, weddings and work events galore. i think this time of year can be the busiest with everyone trying to cram in everything before the holidays.

holiday decorations. i kind of jumped the gun this year on decorating for Christmas. i usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving but when i saw these adorable decorations from Target, i knew i had to have them. someone really needs to start limiting my Target shopping trips.

red holiday coffee cups. enough said. these things make me extremely happy along with coffee dates and cozy chats with good friends.

sister time. i haven’t seen this little one in a month or two so some sister time was definitely in order. we have perfected the sister selfie.

Tivol KC. i attended The Diamond Celebration Event at Tivol and enjoyed sipping on some bubbly and trying on beautiful diamonds. i am already eyeing a few pieces for my Christmas list this year. everything is so gorgeous!

cold weather hybernation.

by Lauren on November 14, 2014

we made it to Friday, loves! as it starts to get colder (we have snow in the forecast for this weekend!), i find myself wanting to snuggle on the couch with the hubs and catching up on my favorite Netflix series. hopefully you get to take it easy this weekend as well and while you are hibernating, enjoy a little inspiration below. have a lovely weekend! i am going to my sister-in-laws baby shower and doing just a little bit of work this weekend. see you back here on Monday.

{trend alert} capes.

by Lauren on November 12, 2014

i have been obsessing over the cape/poncho trend that is everywhere this fall! i recently bought the one in the bottom-right hand corner from ASOS and am counting down the days until it hits my doorstep. the temperature just dropped to a winter chill this week so these pieces would be perfect for layering.

they are putting up the mayor’s christmas tree right outside of where i work so i feel as if i have been hit with the christmas spirit earlier this year than in years past. plus, i had my first red holiday coffee cup today when i ordered a mocha at Panera. needless to say, i am in the holiday mood extra early this year. i hope you all are having a wonderful week!

{outfit post} a maroon fall.

by Lauren on November 10, 2014

the leaves have finally all turned, peppermint mochas have hit Starbucks and thanksgiving is right around the corner. did I tell you, I love fall? we gathered at my dads house for a fall dinner to all be together while my sister was home for the weekend from college. i am so thankful for family time, especially this time of year. this month, i am focusing on gratitude and all of things in life that i am so thankful for.

this maroon dress is from Bluetique, one of my new favorite boutiques. don’t forget to use code CFG10 at checkout to get 10% off your purchase!

currently reading: eightysixed.

by Lauren on November 6, 2014

do you ever just want it all (your dream job, a beautiful home and a perfect love life) and oh yeah, you want it all now! i feel like this describes us all sometime during our 20’s. it’s a time when we are searching around every corner for who we really are. haven’t found it yet? no worries, its all about the journey in the end. However, the journey can be pretty darn witty and hilarious as Emily Belden describes in her new bestseller book, Eightsixed. i chose to feature Emily’s book because it describes a time in our life that we can all relate to, a time of searching to figure ourselves out. people describe the book as “a comedy of misses” and i couldn’t agree more because i was laughing out loud during multiple parts of the book. next time your in need of a light read, i recommend checking Eightsixed out.

Diamond Celebration with Tivol

by Lauren on November 5, 2014

what girl doesn’t love to try on beautiful diamonds and have her pictures taken? i did exactly that this week at Tivol in preparation for their Diamond Celebration event this Friday. i hope you come join me from 5-7 p.m. at the Country Club Plaza for this fun event and for a chance to win a $5,000 Tivol Gift Bond.

Also, don’t forget to participate in the #BehindTheDiamond social campaign. share your story behind one of your favorite pieces of diamond jewelry for a chance to win diamond studded earrings. i shared the story behind my wedding ring and how to me it means much more than just a piece of jewelry. it represents a marriage that has survived and thrived through so much already. it gives me hope that no matter what comes are way, our marriage will outlast it.

{outfit post} mountain style.

by Lauren on November 4, 2014

i gave a brief recap (here) of my recent trip to Beaver Creek, Co. it was absolutely beautiful up in the mountains. we got to enjoy an early fall up there because the leaves were already changing colors and the air was crisp. so of course i was excited because i got to break out my fall layers a bit early. i had to pack light for the trip so i ended up bringing a few versatile pieces that i could wear with multiple things like this army jacket and brown booties. they proved to be the perfect mountain style for the trip. i am already thinking about my next vacation. isn’t funny how we sometimes need a vacation from our vacation?

has anyone tried Birch Box, the monthly beauty subscription? let me just say that i literally have started to look forward to the first week of every month when my Birch Box arrives. what’s great about this monthly subscription is that you can customize your profile to make sure that the products you receive are ones that you will actually use. and the best part is its only $10 a months! below are some of my favorite products i have received that i highly recommend.
