{outfit post} dressy sweatshirt + giveaway.

by Lauren on October 15, 2014

i’ve talked about the dressy sweat pants trend here and here but haven’t shown you the dressy graphic sweatshirt trend. i picked up this floral beauty last season at Gap. i paired mine with a nude skirt and wedges but you could do a more causal look with jeans and flats. i wore this outfit for Sunday dinner and to go see the movie Gone Girl. the husband and I are trying to incorporate some fun into our Sundays rather than just prepping for the week. it makes the weekend a little longer and helps us not dread when Sunday night roles around.

{outfit post} photo session.

by Lauren on October 14, 2014

Chicago was so great this weekend. Caitlin, from Gussied Up and I went for a blog conference and a girls weekend. We literally shopped until we dropped on Friday and were in heaven when we saw a Zara and Topshop. More on our trip will be up next week.

Chelsea from Chelsea Marie Photography was so sweet to invite me to do a photo shoot. We had so much fun taking pictures and trying some new poses. I am blown away by the quality of her pictures. Thanks so much Chelsea for the wonderful head shots and outfit pictures.

{outfit post} fall layers.

by Lauren on October 8, 2014

you may have seen my first post where i paired up with Francesca’s boutique to show you some stylish fall outfits. for this second outfit from Francesca’s i paired a aztec printed dress with a suede fur vest. i went without tights for this look but you could definitely add black printed pair of tights to this look for colder days. if you haven’t been into Francesca’s lately, you are missing out. i always pick up an item thinking it will be expensive and am pleasantly surprised when it’s usually under $50. i am looking forward to showing you one more outfit that i styled with Francesca’s beautiful fall collection.

{outfit post} raspberry floral.

by Lauren on October 7, 2014

i wore this outfit for the final day of Kansas City Fashion Week. the show was on Sunday so it was a bit more casual than Saturday’s shows. we ended up sitting right beside a couple of Chiefs players who were there to support Dwayne Bowe for his kids collection, Lbowe. after the show we ended up going backstage to meet Dwayne Bowe and took a couple of pictures to make our husbands just a little bit jealous. it was a great fashion season and i am already looking forward to the Spring!

{outfit post} structured cobalt.

by Lauren on October 6, 2014

i can’t get enough of this structured banded cobalt skirt. the weighted fabric is seriously amazing! this outfit is from Francesca’s boutique and i am pretty sure every time i walk into the store, i want to purchase everything. i ended up wearing this skirt to a friend’s baby shower later in the day, which was very fitting since she is having  a boy, not to mention the blue for the royals game. Go Royals! this weekend really ended up being the perfect weekend with lots of time to catch up with my girls. lately, i have been craving some girl time so it really ended up being the perfect weekend.

by Lauren on October 3, 2014

i love living in Kansas City with all of the local events that this city has to offer. one of my favorites is the Plaza Art Fair. all of the beautiful art, fun atmosphere and beautiful weather makes for a fun weekend. i ended up going to the art fair after work on a Friday so i ended up wearing a casual comfy outfit with wedges that could transition me from work to night.

{fall 2014} KCFW Day 1.

by Lauren on October 1, 2014

it’s that time of year again, Kansas City Fashion Week was this past weekend. i went to three of the runway shows this weekend and saw some amazing fall fashions. everything from menswear inspired looks to tulle skirts. you name it, it was probably on the runway. i am always so inspired when i go to fashion week not only by the designers but also by the other fashion bloggers. KCFW is an excuse for us to get dressed in our best and mingle with some of the city’s most fashionable.

on a side note, i am already looking forward to my next trip. i am headed to Chicago next weekend for a blog conference. can’t wait to take it all in and bring it back to share with you here.

{outfit post} graphic tee.

by Lauren on September 30, 2014

i have talked about my new favorite pants several times (here) but I haven’t talked about the most comfortable shirt in the world to wear with it. i picked up this graphic tee from Old Navy recently and couldn’t resist pairing it with my track pants. a great way to dress this outfit up is to pair it with a fitted blazer and sequin pumps. this was my Kansas City Fashion Week Saturday day outfit. the afternoon runway shows are always a bit more casual then the night shows so this outfit worked out well. if you’re at all interested in covering Kansas City Fashion Week next season make sure to look for an application, here.
