by Lauren on November 10, 2014

the leaves have finally all turned, peppermint mochas have hit Starbucks and thanksgiving is right around the corner. did I tell you, I love fall? we gathered at my dads house for a fall dinner to all be together while my sister was home for the weekend from college. i am so thankful for family time, especially this time of year. this month, i am focusing on gratitude and all of things in life that i am so thankful for.

{outfit post} mountain style.

by Lauren on November 4, 2014

i gave a brief recap (here) of my recent trip to Beaver Creek, Co. it was absolutely beautiful up in the mountains. we got to enjoy an early fall up there because the leaves were already changing colors and the air was crisp. so of course i was excited because i got to break out my fall layers a bit early. i had to pack light for the trip so i ended up bringing a few versatile pieces that i could wear with multiple things like this army jacket and brown booties. they proved to be the perfect mountain style for the trip. i am already thinking about my next vacation. isn’t funny how we sometimes need a vacation from our vacation?

très chic: chunky knit sweaters.

by Lauren on October 29, 2014

for this months tres chic post we are styling cozy chunky knit sweaters. i love how we all three styled this trend very differently. that is the great thing about this trend is you can style it with a skirt, white jeans or dark jeans. Cait and I took our pictures on a recent girls trip to Chicago at Navy Pier. there was just enough chill in the air where we were happy to have the extra layers.

{outfit post} chunky knit sweater.

by Lauren on October 22, 2014

all i want to do in the fall most days is wrap up in a chunky knit sweater. this grey one below is one i got in San Diego earlier in the year and i can’t stop wearing it. i also paired the leopard scarf below with this outfit earlier in the week. both pieces are extremely versatile. the background for this photo was taken on the navy pier with the Chicago skyline in the background on my recent trip.

{outfit post} faux fur.

by Lauren on September 29, 2014

i am officially back from vacation, well-rested (not for long) and inspired. Colorado was beautiful this time of year with all of the trees changing colors to a bright yellow and red. it was stunning! we enjoyed being outside, shopping and playing a bunch of golf. now back to the real world! this past week was also Kansas City Fashion Week. more posts to come on the three shows i attended but for now i thought i would show you what i wore to the Saturday night show. it was a blast to catch up with the blogger babes and enjoy some amazing fashion.

leather & gold.

by Lauren on September 15, 2014

i literally had one of the most perfect Saturdays this past weekend. i got to sleep in, eat brunch and read blogs on the deck, go on a long run, shop and go out with some friends later in the night. talk about my ideal day! the best part was getting back into running, i ran 5 miles and it felt so good. so good in fact that i am thinking about training for another half marathon (for all you non-runners, running never actually feels good but it does make you feel strong and empowered, hence the addiction). on Saturday night, the husband and i met up with some friends to do a little wine tasting at a place called Cellar & Loft down in the Rivermarket area. afterwards, we were starving (on the verge of HANGRY!) so we stopped by the plaza to grab a late night dinner. below is what i wore for the night time festivities. overall, it was a great day!

a little glimpse of fall.

by Lauren on August 11, 2014

why is it that we are always so eager for the next season. whether it’s the clothes, holidays or traditions, I am always so excited for the next season to arrive and this time of year is no different. autumn is right around the corner and i already am dying to wear my boots. i decided that ankle boots are totally acceptable in August, especially when it’s a rainy dreary day. plus when you wear boots with white jeans it makes for a great transition piece. now all i need to go along with this look is a pumpkin spiced latte in hand, THE best!

as a new season arrives, it feel like it’s the perfect time to set my intentions for the next couple of months. intentions are similar to goals but i like to think of them as lifestyle changes. the decisions i make are ones that i want to have a purpose. even the simple decisions are important to infuse with intention. stay tuned for more on my intentions for the upcoming season.

fall soiree.

by Lauren on July 23, 2014

is it bad that i am already thinking about fall and all the lovely fashion like boots and jackets? i can’t help myself and with the scorching temperatures lately it has me dreaming of colder months. fall is my favorite time of year! i pulled together two looks below to style some of fall’s essentials such as an army green jacket, fur vest, leather pants and ankle boots. now you may be asking yourself, ‘Lauren, white jeans, a rose colored clutch and a white peplum top are not fall pieces?’ well sure they are, especially if you want to transition some of your favorite summer pieces into the next season. its all about how you style them. i recommend adding more layers like a vest or jacket to make sure its warm enough for cooler months.
